- Student has a fundamental knowledge in the field of biology which allows him to understand the relationships between the structure and function on the level of cells, tissues and organisms;
- describes the structure of animals on each level of organization;
- knows basic physiological processes and tissues/organs functionality;
- knows the essentials of systematics and taxonomy, determines animals on different organizational levels.
Student recognize and classify basic taxons of animals. Determine animals to the generic or specific level based on morphology, interprets morphological and physioogical adaptations in the evolutionary context.
Competences:
Student understand progressive complexity of animal anatomy in the evolutionary context, Has Got the awareness of responsibility resulting from the group work;
- demonstrates attention for entrusted laboratory equipment and animal collection.

Essentials of invertebrates and vertebrates anatomy and morphology. Habitats. Essentials of classification, systematics and phylogeny. Anatomy and life processes, adaptations. Life cycles. Taxonomic overview of Protista and Animalia. Recommended literature:
