Knowledge:
- Students have ability to name and recognize the livestock groups
-describe the standard procedures performed on animals
-understand the specificity of the work organization in a farm keeping different species of animals
-describe the preparation of feed and feeding procedures
Practical skills:
-organize and preform moving animals to the next production group and among different production sectors on the farm.
-recognize the basic food components used in animal feeding, define the quality of food and its utilization for animal feeding.
-link the knowledge from different disciplines
Competences:
Studets have competence to cooperate with farm staff
Prerequisites:
Student should have knowledge from subject: animal husbandry and breeding, animal nutrition, technologies in animal production, animal hygiene, ethology.Course content:
Understanding of work specificity in high production herds/ breeding herds/breeding stable. Understanding the farm functioning depending on animal species and production.
