Knowledge:
a) Should be able to identify various species of fresh water fish. Should know the basics of husbandry of the carp and salmon family.
b) Full understanding of the laws relating to husbandry and production of farm fish
c) Can describe the clinical signs of ill health
d) Propose and properly plan preventive procedures and treatment of disease
Practical skills:
a) Evaluating the heath and status of fish by examining environmental and clinical parameters
b) Basic approach to pathology and parasitology
c) The use of prophylaxis and treatment to prevent disease

Biology and breeding of cyprinid and salmonid fishes (carp, trout). Environmental, viral, bacterial and parasitological diseases. Technique of clinical examination and necropsy.Recommended literature:
