Learning outcomes: Knowledge For those students who want addressed in the future treatment of small animals faculty will be a valuable addition to the knowledge acquired in the course of surgery. Small number of students in the group will enable practicing the procedures described in the class schedule. Practical skills Ability to insert cannula, intubation, connect inhalation anesthesia machine and monitoring equipment . Knowledge which prepare students for participation in the specialistic courses in the field of small animal surgery.

Competences: Physical examination for anesthesia. Ability to select drugs and doses to the patient. Ability to insert cannula, intubation, connect inhalation anesthesia machine and monitoring equipment . Knowledge which prepare students for participation in the specialistic courses in the field of small animal surgery.

Prerequisites: Completed and passed courses in anatomy, histology and pharmacology. Completed courses in surgery and anesthesia.

Course content: Getting to know the specifics of small animal anesthesia with particular reference to species differences. Teaching perform procedures under local and general anesthesia. Getting familiar with emergency procedures.
