Knowledge
Knows and understands the basic technical norms regarding the general conditions of erecting simple buildings and structures. Knows the specific requirements and technical conditions to be met by buildings and their location. He knows the components of traditional building materials and the basic issues and the safety of the structure.
Skills
Can use basic legal legislation regulating the issues of design and construction (bases of building law). Can retrieve specific information regarding technical conditions. Is able to prepare an architectural design as well as to design basic elements, construction layout of a one storey building with a basement and with attic.

Social competence
Recognizes the importance of energy-saving aspect connected with the need to reduce energy consumption in a building as well as its impact on the environment. Demonstrates understanding of aesthetic issues related to designing of buildings.

The standards and technical requirements. Basic knowledge of building construction. Typification and dimensional coordination in construction. Issues of building design and construction of different scales and purposes (function). Systems of building structures. Basis of traditional building construction. Field, spatial, functional and aesthetic requirements. Basis of materials science. Live loads. Structural elements of traditional buildings. Issues of building construction safety. Consideration of environment in designing and building construction practise.
