Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 – can identify and characterize animal tissues [KB_W06]; W2 – can recognize and differentiate animal tissues on histological preparations [KB_W06]; W3 – understands and can explain the dependance of tissues’ morphology from their physiological functions [KB_W07]; W4 – understands and can explain the basic tissue differences resulted from embryogenesis [KB_W06; KB_W07]; Skills: Student: U1 – can use light microscope and make observations of histological preparations [KB_U06]; U2 – can analyze and evaluate tissue picture and connect it with their physiological state [KB_U06]; U3 – can localize particular tissues within animal bodies [KB_U06];

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 – plans tasks and chooses methods for animal tissue isolation [KB_K03]; K2 – shows ethical attitudes for experimental animals [KB_K07]; K3 – shows responsibility for entrusted preparations and microscopes [KB_K08]; K4 – understands the importance of the BHP rules compliance due to contact with animal-derived material [KB_K09].

Prerequisites: Cell biology, biophysics, chemistry
