PolishLearning outcomes:
Student know the basic principles of construction machinery;
has knowledge of the reasons for of damage of machine parts, know the rules of calculation of machine elements connections, has detailed knowledge of the principles of selection and design of rolling bearings, has knowledge of the design of inseparable and disjoint clutches, belt, friction and chain transmission calculations and helical bevel and worm gears calculations.
Able to perform and correctly read construction drawings of machine parts, can individually construct the basic machines elements, know how to properly choose the basic principles of selected assemblies technology, know how to determine the causes of assemblies defects, can practically apply that knowledge to the design of machine elements such as clutches and selected mechanical gears (pulleys, friction, chain and gears)
Competences:
Is aware of the responsibilities of the machines for the consequences of design errors for future users of both machines as well as for the correct manufacturing processes using machines designed.Prerequisites:
Engineering drawing, mechanics and strength of materials, materials science.Course content:
Strength calculation of disjoint and inseparable connections. Characteristics of shafts and axles and the construction of contour of equal strength shafts. The principle of constant shaft and constant hole in the selection of fits. Friction and lubrication of in slide bearings, selection and use of slide bearings. Types and construction of rolling bearings, bearing building rules, the selection of bearings. Design and calculation rules of disjoint inseparable clutches. Construction and engineering calculations of V-belt transmission and chain and friction gears. Calculation of helical gear design with straight teeth and screw. The forces for gears with straight teeth and angular.
Types of tooth profiles, distribution of forces, the dimensions of bevel gear selection. Characteristics of the worm gear characteristic cross sections and angles, a natural correction. Lubrication of machine elements, the theory of hydrodynamic and hydrostatic lubrication.
