After completing the course a student will be able to evaluate the breeding value using the specialized computer software as well as selecting best animals and applying mating and crossbreeding strategies in the breeding plans.Competences:
Designing, implementing and monitoring the breeding plans, working for the sector of animal breeding (breeders’ associations, AI stations, nucleus herds, animal recording, etc.).Prerequisites:

The overall purpose of the course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills concerning genetic variation in populations of animals bred by human and methods used for evaluating the breeding value, selecting animals, mating and crossbreeding animals and estimating heterosis effects.Recommended literature:
