After completion of this course each student should be able to explain and justify the selection of the breeding animal to the future potential owner. He/she should also know the rules of breeding, feeding and the legal regulations on keeping particular species at home.Competences:
After completion of this course each student should be able to recognise species of popular exotic animals, determine their sex, assemble cages with accessories and select suitable feeds and mineral-vitamin supplements.Prerequisites:
Completion of basic courses in: animal anatomy, animal histology, animal physiologyCourse content:
Introducing students to breeding and biology of popular exotic animals species (small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians). Explanation of legal regulations on exotic animals in captivity. Presentation concerning methods of exposition of exotic animalsRecommended literature:
