KNOWLEDGE:
After the course student: knows the more basic strands and schools of thought and economic and socio-economic conditions of their creation and has an extended knowledge of the evolution of views on the nature of Economics and their relationship to other sciences, for example. history, sociology or psychology.
SKILLS: student can use the theoretical knowledge concerning the history of economic thought to analyze and justify the current economic issues, in the context of historical experiences related to economic and social policy and use the knowledge coming from historical experiences to assess the impact of economic events and trends.
Competences:
SOCIAL COMPETENCES: student understands and appreciates the use of historical experiences available through the history of economic thought and is prepared to look for arguments in the debate on current topics in the knowledge of economic thought.Prerequisites:
Basics of micro and macroeconomics.Course content:
The content of the training is to familiarize the students with historical views on the most important economic problems (the role of the State, the importance of the various factors of production in value creation, allocation systems, the role of money, the socio-psychological bases of economic activities). Show the evolution of both the problems analyzed by individual schools, currents and thinkers, and the evolution of views on selected economic issues, in order to indicate the news of these problems for the man of the 21st century and show the roots and sources of contemporary views and doctrines in economic thought most prominent economists and thinkers of the past.Recommended literature:
