Knowledge: Student knows the basic concepts of the natural environment, has knowledge of importance of the environment and the necessity of its protection. He knows the methods of improving the environment, knows what methods should be used to protect the environment from pollution and degradation and improve its condition. He is knowledgeable about the impact of investments (including building) on the environment and how to minimize this impact. He knows the basic methods of reducing or minimizing environmental hazards. Skills: He can independently analyze problems affecting state of the environment. He can determine the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on air, water, soil, vegetation, animals and on a man. He can choose plants for specific purposes and special features to reduce or minimize the negative impact of environmental burdens on water, soil and air. He can identify the cause of natural and anthropogenic changes in the environment, is able to apply appropriate actions influencing the environment, is able to recognize non-technical aspects of solving engineering tasks.Competences:
Student is aware of the non-technical consequences of engineering activities and its impact on the environment. It is understood phenomena in the environment, is aware of the responsibility for the rational management of the environment. He understands the need for its protection and enhancement of the quality of human life.Prerequisites:
Course content:
Environment, the basic concepts and the need to protect, the basic source of environmental burdens, degradation, causes of degradation, pollution, causes and protection of air, water and soil. Impact of construction investment on the environment. Rehabilitation of degraded areas, storage and utilization of municipal and industrial wastes, non-conventional sources of energy, protection of natural resources, sustainable development.Recommended literature:
