Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student knows the basics of dynamic geology and hydrogeology; knows the hydrogeological parameters of land; knows the basic rights and equation of groundwater filtration; knows the method of determination of groundwater resources. Skills Students can determine the hydrogeological parameters of land; can calculate the intensity of water inflow to wells and drainage ditches; determine the position of the curve of depression (line of pressure); determine the groundwater resources; can use thematic maps (geological, hydrogeological, engineering geological); can make a cross-section of hydrological, map of hydroizohypse and hydroisobaths, determine the direction of groundwater flow.

Competences: Student is able to predict the effects of irrational groundwater resource for society and the environment.

Prerequisites: algebra, mathematical analysis

Course content: Fundamentals of geology. Geological conditions of occurrence of groundwater. Division and systematics of groundwater. Basic physical characteristics and hydrological properties of the soil. Properties of groundwater. Anthropogenic threats groundwater. Maps of hydroizohypse and hydroisobaths. Hydraulic gradient, critical fall. Darcy's law and the scope of its validity. Methods for determining the filtration coefficient. Permeability and water movement in the unsaturated center. Continuity equation of movement. Inflow into the ditch and well. Grid of hydrodynamic flow. Groundwater resources.
