Learning outcomes: Knows the subjects of market economy, knows the production factors, knows the traits and functions of the real estate market, can determine the role of currency in market economy, knows the sources of financing investments, knows the basic rules of accountancy in a company;
can describe the mechanism of market balance, can describe the function of production and justify decisions by both consumers and producers; can indicate the factors influencing the real estate market, can analyse a selected real estate market, can evaluate the proper content of an account record, can calculate the financial result;
Competences: shows their understanding of the mechanisms occurring in market economy, can identify the factors influencing the success of a given business activity; understands the need to constantly improve their qualifications.

Course content: The subject and goal of economy. The notion of market and its elements, supply and demand law, price, value, income, cost, cost vs. expenditure. Market balance. Production factors. The function of production. Market subjects. Consumer and producer decisions. The requirements for a perfectly competitive market.
The goals and functions of real estate in market economy, the value vs. the price of real estate, type of value, the factors influencing the value of real estate. The real estate market: traits and functions. The factors influencing the functioning of the real estate market. Real estate market participants. Studying and analysing the real estate market. State interventionism and the real estate market. The real estate market in Poland and in selected EU states. The notion, classification and role of investment. Real estate market investors. The criteria for and examples of economic evaluation of the efficiency of an investment.
The financial market and its functions. The role and function of currency. The notion and goals of banks in market economy. Bank customers' solvency evaluation. Financing real estate investments.
The entrepreneur: role and desired traits. Forms of entrepreneurship. The basics of motivation. Leadership. Communication within an organisation. Sources of financing for entrepreneurship activity: local and foreign capital. The basics of accountancy in a company. Localising business activity: the influence of the surroundings on development. Establishing a business activity: practical determinants.
