After completing the course students will know: the basic general concepts, definitions and legal acts from the scope of construction law, knows the basic principles for the drafting of buildings; understand the role and tasks of the basic elements of the building including structural elements; know the characteristics of the most commonly used in general construction ceilings, exterior and interior walls and stairs , knows the basics of design in construction
After finishing course the student is able to: make a critical analysis of the role and tasks of the basic structural and non-structural elements of the building, he can develop the concept of a building with a valid functional and spatial arrangement and layout design and the right type of insulation, humidity and noise.
Competences:
After completing the course students will understand the behavior of the optimal conditions of temperature and humidity of buildings, leading to energy savings, including reducing carbon emissions harmful to the human environment Prerequisites:
Course content:
Introduction to civil engineering. Definitions of terms. Elements and structural components of the building. Loads. Characteristics of building structures. Earthworks. Excavations. Foundations and their subdivisions. Thermal insulation, acoustic, anti-water and damp proof. The walls of the building. Materials used to complete the wall. Ceilings. Types and characteristics of the floor. Stairs. Types. Determining the extent and dimensions of the stairwell. Ceilings. Roofs. Terraces and balconies. Steep roofs. Rafter and their types. Roofing. Gutters and downspouts. The windows and doors. The loads acting on buildings. characteristics and computing. The bases for calculating and constructing roofs on wooden and steel beams, lintels and balconies. Introduction to the design of masonry walls.Recommended literature:
