Learning outcomes: Knowledge Student knows methods of assessment industrial and hazardous waste and their practical using; has the sufficiently knowledge to identify the types of hazardous and industrial waste arising in the various branches in economic activity; understands the principles of assessing the properties of industrial and hazardous waste. Skills Student is able to specify issues related to the management of landfills of industrial and hazardous waste; knows how to choose the appropriate criteria of assessing acceptable variants of proceedings and indicate the method of disposing, processing and recycling of selected industrial and hazardous waste; knows the rules of waste management; know the rules of their identification and is able to determine a waste code.
Competences: Demonstrates the understanding of the importance of disposing industrial and hazardous waste; is aware of threats which come from producing industrial and hazardous waste; tries to treat waste as a potential source of raw materials.
Prerequisites: waste management
Course content: Theoretical and practical knowledge of selected industrial and hazardous waste and ability of assessing of their practical use. Assessment of their character and identifying their potential opportunities of using these materials in national economy. Rules of waste's management in the light of current legislation. General characteristics of the types of industrial and hazardous waste, their impact on the environment. Detailed characteristic and procedures of selected types of industrial and hazardous waste. Thermal waste's disposal.
