Knowledge
Student has got basic knowledge of thermal conversion processes and energetic opportunities using particular types of wastes; knows the basic generation technologies of fuels from waste and their directions of development; has basic knowledge of the properties of conventional and alternative fuels; knows the rules of using energy of wastes and the conditions of obtaining renewable energy from municipal wastes.
Skills
Student can determine the amount, composition and properties of fuel of particular types of wastes; knows how to estimate the opportunities of energetic use and to select the optimal method of thermal conversion for various types of wastes; can qualify energy generated from the thermal processing the energy from renewable sources.

Legal and social aspects of the energetic using of wastes in Poland and in the world. Thermal processes of using fuels. The basic properties of fuels from wastes. The opportunities of energetic using of wastes arising in various industries: timber processing, papermaking, food processing, manufacture of plastics. Fuel properties of technical products processing of biological substances, residues from sewages purification processes. Energetic use of biogas. Predicting formed fuels. Economic and ecological aspects of combustion and co-combustion fuels from wastes. Acquisition renewable energy from wastes. Testing and certification of fuels. Directions of development energy installation from using the wastes and fuels from wastes.
