Knowledge
Student knows the purpose and possibilities of the Austodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Revit Structure, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis software. Student is acquainted to notions, commands, drawing tools and methods required to prepare structural and architectural models in accordance to Building Information Modeling standards. Student understands the sense and the benefits resulting from the application of the BIM or CAD software in engineering practice.
Skills
Student can communicate with the software. Student is able to customize the working environment according to the requirements of the task and personal preferences. He makes the proper use of the software menu. Student can apply commands and options to complete given task. Student is able to build structural and architectural model of moderate complexity. Student can adopt the Revit structural model to perform engineering calculations with the Robot Structural Analysis software. Student can prepare calculations of spatial structure and generate final statement. Student is able to develop the object’s plans, sections and elevations on basis of the BIM model. Student is capable of prepare 3D visualisation of the object and generate printouts of given scale and dimension. Student is able to manage and archive drawing files and to exchange information between the project team.
Competences:
The competence in the field of modern design methods and tools achieved on basis of the Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk Revit Structure i Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis software helps student to build his personal confidence and reliability. Prerequisites:
Computer aided drawing, Structural mechanics, Computational methods. Course content:
Principles and notions of parametrical modeling. Methodology of design work on the BIM model. Features and capabilities of the Revit Architecture and Revit Structure software. Communication with the software. Design tools. Building model creation. Definition of layers and grids. Creation of walls, structural elements and stairs. Generation of views and sheets. Generation of plans, cross-sections and facade plans. Preparation of tags, schedules and references. Dimensions. Drawing detailing. Families of elements. Management and edition of families. Analytical tools. Object grouping. Structural modeling. Making structural walls from the dwg file or from sketch. Levels adding and copying. Structural elements: floors, stairs, beams, columns. Joints of elements. Reinforcement. Modifications of structural elements grid. Families of structural elements. Materials. Edition of the task parameters.
Exchanging of the model numerical data with the Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis software. Analysis of the object’s spatial structure. Rendering and visualization of the project. Creating walkthroughs. Solar studies. Preparing printouts.
