Learning outcomes: Throughout a course a student acquires theoretical knowledge concerning the basic sociological notions as well as basic conceptions and theories that constitute the scientific apparatus of sociology.
Competences: Completion of the course enables to enter upon independent considerations related to social reality.
Prerequisites: The humanities within the secondary school curriculum.
Course content: Sociology as a humanistic science, Society as a subject of sociology, Definitions and types of social groups, Sociological analysis of a state, Political parties, conditions for democracy, Sociological notions of nation, Collision of civilisations according to Huntington, Globalization, Culture, Socialization and social control, Family as a basic division of socialization.
