Learning outcomes: KNOWLEDGE: He has knowledge of site conditions and their influence on plant cultivation and is able to associate it with economic effects of the production, knows the basic recommendations for selected agricultural plant cultivation. Has knowledge of the role of these plants in agricultural economics and understands the interrelationship in the food production and distribution in the country and the world. He knows the condition of the agricultural and horticultural production in Poland and in the world. Has a basic knowledge about conditions and factors determining rural areas functioning and development. He distinguishes cultivation processes components at high and low levels agricultural technology. SKILLS: Is able to analyze the main indicators characterizing production profitability, is able to interpret data describing the impact of the processes occurring in the habitat on the crop plant and use this indicators to solve problems. He describes a simplified agricultural plant production technology. He recommends solutions resulting in increase of production efficiency. He elaborates technology cards for selected crop species. He assess the impact of cultivation technology and plants rotation on the crop production efficiency.

Competences: SOCIAL COMPETENCE: Is aware of the phenomena occurring between habitat elements and cultivated plant and can implement economic projects in agriculture considering the economic and ethical issues. Organizes and conducts research in the team, appreciates the need for self-improvement and the need for training. He shows responsibility for entrusted equipment.

Prerequisites: botany, physics, chemistry and some elements of the subjects in the field of environmental protection

Course content: Cultivated plants habitat, the theoretical foundations of plant cultivation, crop cultivation technology and its simplification, seed preparation, sowing technology, assessment of crop emergence, crops cultivating and harvesting, kinds of crop rotation, agricultural-environmental programs, Codex of good agricultural practice. Main crop plants groups cultivation technologies, agronomic factors influencing the quantity and quality of crops, cultivation technologies at a low and a high level of agricultural technology.

Assessment methods: Assessment of learning outcomes in terms of knowledge: written exam + project overall soil cultivation in different rotations. Assessment of learning outcomes in terms of skills: assessment in the field. The task in the form of projects, monitoring of performance, multimedia presentations, Assessment of learning outcomes in terms of social competence: individual and group work, discussion in the classroom.
