Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student understands the basic laws of electrical circuits for direct current and alternating current, knows the principles and methods of fire protection; knows the basic laws and principles of operation of electric power tools, knows basic protection against short circuit, overload, phase loss, incorrect phase sequence, etc. Student understand the principles of operation; understand the principle of operation of engines, one, two and three-phase, knows basic metrology systems. Skills: Student is able to solve analytically simple circuits, different methods, determine the electrical efficiency of the selected devices, is able to select the basic systems and instrumentation for the measurement of electrical parameters and apply it correctly (measuring current, voltage, power and energy), is able to assess the correct installation and operation of equipment electric.

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student shows understanding and is aware of the responsibility for the efficient and rational use of electricity for energy-efficient consumer electrical appliances and their correctly starting and control.

Course content: Course contents: The electric field, magnetic field, electromagnetic field. Basics of electrical metrology, fundamental rights and electrical circuits for direct current and alternating current. Analog and digital meters. Measurement methods in power and energy systems for and alternating current. Construction and operation of a direct current generator (self-excited, separately excited ), direct current motors (series, shunt, series-shunt), asynchronous (induction) and transformers. Methods of starting and rotational speed control of induction motors. Electrical light sources (including energy-efficient). Lighting, as a risk factor in the work environment. Power, protection circuits and electrical equipment (electrical equipment and installation). Protection against primary and ancillary.

Assessment methods: credit of laboratory exercises, pass the written test from lectures, The final score consist of score from classes (50%) and lecture (50%).

Comment: Lecture 1 Basic laws of DC circuits. Fundamentals of electrical metrology. Analog and digital meters. Lecture 2 Electric circuits AC single phase. Circuit R, L, C, serial and parallel. Resonance voltage and current. Power circuit sinusoidal alternating current of components R, L, C, complex numbers, and their use in the calculation, voltage, current, impedance, reactance circuit of sinusoidal alternating current. 3rd Lecture Magnetism, magnetic flux density, flow, flow fields. Simple magnetic circuit. Magnetic materials, diamagnetic, paramagnetic and ferromagnetic. Electromagnetic induction. 4th Lecture AC Machines: ideal transformer, transformers execution. AC machines: generators, synchronous motors, asynchronous motors (induction) with cage rotor ring. Lecture fifth Circuits of three-phase voltages and currents, the general dependence, calculation and measurement of power in three-phase circuits symmetrical and asymmetrical. Lesson 6 Sources of electric lighting, incandescent lamps, halogen żarowo-discharge (fluorescent, mercury, sodium, metal halide), the LED diode. Lecture 7th DC machine, the motor current shunt, shunt-serial, serial. DC generators; obcowzbudne and self-excited. Lecture 8: Electrical installations and protection of low-voltage power grid. and receivers, fuses, relays, contactors, switches, circuits SZRŹN basic control systems implemented on contactors and relays. Lecture 9th Protection against the basic and additional (zero, grounding, network protection, isolating transformers, double insulation, circuit breaker, isolating positions, etc.). Lecture 10th Basic knowledge of semiconductor devices, diodes, transistors, thyristors. The type and range of exercises: laboratory exercises. Exercise 1 and 2: DC machines - construction principle, AC motors, single phase - construction principle. Exercise 3 and 4: motors, three phase - construction principle, electrical, security. Controls single-phase loads, switching systems. Exercise 5: Protection against electric shock - basic and additional.
