As a result of participating and completing the course, student: acquires basical knowledge about criteria of wastes types according to legal regulations in force, can define sources of wastes, knows properties of basic wastes groups, can define threats creating by wastes, can indicates suitable methods of limiting of wastes production, knows the most important technologies of wastes utilisation/recycling, knows current sytuation and problems of wastes in Poland, knows ecological and economical aspects of wastes management in Poland.
Student is able to discuss about problems connected with wastes, using proper terminology and right ways of reasoning.
Competences:
Passing the course student enables a critical assessment of problems connected with production, classification, utilization and recycling of wastes.Prerequisites:
General knowledge from secondary school, skills in using WWW and library resourcesCourse content:
Deffinition and main sources of wastes; Key legislation related to wastes; Criteria of wastes classification in Poland and EU; Waste classification system in Poland; Catalogue of wastes in Poland; Discussion of the various groups of wastes Recommended literature:

Assessment methods:
OPTIONAL: partial short – tests( satisfactory completion for passing: 60% of each test) or final exam. Comment:
