Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student defines the basic concepts in biochemistry [BH1_W01; BH1_W02]; recognizes the basic biomolecules associated with the relevant main metabolic pathways [BH1_W02; BH1_W10]; explains the relationships between major metabolic pathways [BH1_W02] Skills: Student combines the basic biomolecules with the relevant metabolic pathways [BH1_U05]; examines the relationships between the major biochemical pathways [BH1_U05]; uses basic biochemistry laboratory techniques [BH1_U04]
Competences: Student has entrusted the responsibility for laboratory equipment [BH1_K08]; is aware of the importance of compliance with safety rules in a biochemical laboratory [BH1_K08]
Prerequisites: organic chemistry
Course content: Basicchemical constituents ofliving organisms,obtaining andstoringof metabolic energy,metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids and amino acids.
