Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W01 - student defines the basic concepts in biochemistry [BH1_W01; R1A_W01, InzA_W01; BH1_W02; R1A_W01, R1A_W03]; W02 - student recognizes the basic biomolecules associated with the relevant metabolic pathways [BH1_W02; R1A_W01, R1A_W03; BH1_W10R1A_W04, InzA_W03 ]; W03 - student explains the relationships between major metabolic pathways and ways toregulate them [BH1_W02; R1A_W01, R1A_W03]. Skills: U01 - student combines the basic biomolecules with the relevant metabolic pathways [BH1_U05; R1A_U05, InzA_U05, InzA_U07]; U02 - student examines therelationships between the major biochemical pathways [BH1_U05; R1A_U05, InzA_U05, InzA_U07]; U03 - student usesbasic biochemistry laboratory techniques [BH1_U04; R1A_U04, InzA_U01, InzA_U07, InzA_U08].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): K01 - student has entrusted the responsibility for laboratory equipment [BH1_K08; R1A_K05, InzA_K02]; K02 - student is aware of theimportance of compliance with safety rules in a biochemical laboratory [BH1_K08; R1A_K05, InzA_K02].

Prerequisites: Organic chemistry
