W1 – knows the systematics and classification of selected groups of parasites, their origin, biology and importance to humans and to animals [KB_W06, KB_W08, KB_W12];
W2 – describes the external and internal morphology of selected groups of parasites in terms of their adaptations to the parasitic life style[KB_W06, KB_W08];
W3 – possesses the general knowledge of the ways of infections,disease caused by parasites (parasitoses), prevention as well as the methods of treatment of parasitic diseases [KB_W20];
W4 – knows the ways of collecting and preservation of various groups of parasitic organisms[KB_W17];
W5 – describes the groups of parasites in terms of practical and economic importance (parasites of farm animals and pets) [KB_W20].e (parasites of farm animals and pets).

U1 – operates the light– and stereomicroscopes; safely deals with the preserved material [KB_U06, KB_U12];
U2 – can select the adequate study techniques (methods of collecting, preservation, dissection, observation and identification) applied in relation to various groups of organisms [KB_U12];
U3 –can carry out the basic coprological laboratory diagnostics as well as breeding and isolation of important parasites of humans and animals [KB_U06, KB_U12];
U4 – identifies the representatives of particular classes of parasitic animals, their developmental stages and dispersal forms; applies the interactive keys in taxa identification within various groups of endo- and ectoparasites[KB_U07, KB_U10];

K1 – understands the increasing complexity of animal architecture, being in concordance with the evolutionary process, correctly identifies and solves the problems related to animal breeding [KB_K01, KB_K04];

K3 – takes care for the equipment he/she was entrusted with; takes responsibility for animal safety and protection [KB_K08].

biology and ecology of ecto- and endoparasites; adaptations to parasitic life style; life cycles of parasites; paths of infection; the pathogenicity, methods of control and prophylaxis of parasitoses and zoonoses; parasite-host relationships; types of samples taken for analysis, methods of sample collection and preservation; coprological analysis; methods of detection, breeding and identification of parasites of animals and humans.Recommended literature:

Assessment methods:
Obligatory attendance at practicals (no more than two absences permissible, one of them must be followed by an excuse note). Practical grade: checking the skill of identification of dispersal forms of selected species of animals – parasites of animals and human, based on the microscopic slides. Lecture grade: test covering the material done at lectures.Comment:
