Knowledge:
The student has systematized and broad knowledge of selected aspects of information technology; knows the principles of design and implementation of presentation and poster; has knowledge of relational databases; understands the principles of the interpolation of point distributed data and drawing of contour maps; knows the basis and possibilities of GIS applications in analysis and presentation of spatial data.
Abilities:
The student is able to apply IT techniques in further studies and future career; is able to conduct common calculations, analysis, and charts applied in environmental sciences with the use of information technology, including specialized computer programmes; knows how to use a database regarding environment in their professional activities; is able to do computer graphics to present the results of environmental studies, is able to apply GIS in further studies and future career.
Competences:
The student demonstrates understanding of the importance of information technology in the development of civilization, recognizes the need to expand and deepen their knowledge and skills in this area.Prerequisites:

Computer graphics in assessing the quality of surface and groundwater. Searching for information. Preparation of presentation and poster. Specialized databases in the field of the environment. Working with database. Design of a relational database. Designing queries, templates, SQL language. Interpolation of data points and contour mapping, and other spatial data visualization. Calculation of the area and volume, and cross sections in the “Surfer” programme. The use and creation of digital maps in a GIS specialist programmes.Recommended literature:
