Knowledge:
W1 - The student knows the basic notions of mathematical logic, set theory, matrix algebra, probability theory.
W2 - The student has sufficient knowledge of the basic mathematical tools for modelling biological phenomena and processes, such as: system of linear equations, probability distribution, function of several variables, least squares method.
W3 - The student has the knowledge of mathematical methods used for analysis of biological data: distribution of a random variable, independence of random variables, matrix, regression line.
Skills:
U1 - The student uses the language of such branches of mathematics as set theory, matrix algebra and probability theory for describing biological phenomena.Competences:

Tutorials:
Two written tests (45 minutes), 2 shorts written test (20 minutes). The students will receive points for the tests and for properly solved problems ,,at the blackboard’’ during the classes. The final grade will be based on the sum of obtained points. The students are obliged to participate in the classes – only one absence (which is not caused by illness etc.) is allowed during the semester.
Lectures:
The students will write the final test (at the end of the semester). The gComment:
