Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student knows the meaning of the term "environmental risk"; is aware of the elements of the natural environment which are endangered as a result of the investment in the field of water management; knows the rules of these projects, under the Water Framework Directive as well as the possibilities and limitations for investments in protected areas, including Natura 2000 sites; knows at which stages of the investment process ecological risk occurs; is aware of methods for compiling data for the environmental risk management plan and knows the criteria that determine their choice; knows how to classify the risk and what action should be taken to reduce its level. Abilities: The student is able to identify environmental risk factors in water management; can choose the method of risk analysis; is able to assess the probability of risk and its effect on all components of the ecosystem; can interpret the obtained results and choose the risk handling method based on them.

Competences: The student is able to predict the risk to the natural environment with particular regard to protected areas, including Natura 2000 sites; can determine the level of these risks and make a critical analysis of the proposed technical solutions, in particular: devices, structures and water management systems.
