PolishLearning outcomes:
The student understands the concepts of: safety, reliability and risk, and the relationships between them; knows what events may affect the malfunction of the environmental engineering objects; knows the principles of designing of the environmental engineering objects in terms of their reliability; knows methods that allow to estimate the risks and risk handling methods.
Skills The student can collect the necessary data to assess reliability; is able to assess the reliability of functioning of equipment used in environmental engineering; is able to determine the sources and types of risk in the stages of planning, execution and maintenance of environmental engineering objects. Competences:
The student is aware that the reliability and safety of technical systems influence "the quality of life" by reducing the frequency and impact of adverse events in the environment of human.
Prerequisites:
Mathematical StatisticsCourse content:
Principles of conducting reliability tests. Indicators of reliability. Structural reliability of technical systems. Usage of reliability theory in the stages of planning, executing and maintenance of objects within engineering and shaping of the environment. The analysis of failure rate of system using mathematical statistics. Variant solutions in environmental engineering on the basis of knowledge of the reliability. The concept of risk and safety, risk assessment methods and safety assessment. Risk and safety management.Recommended literature:
