Knowledge:
W1 – student knows kind of biologically active substances that are presented in feedstuffs and feed materials as well as classification of allowed to application in animal nutrition feed additives [BZ_W05; BZ_W21];
W2 – student is able to characterize the basic physical and chemical properties of biologically active substances that are present in raw feed materials, feedstuffs as well as are applied as feeds additives [BZ_W04];
W3 – student has a wide knowledge concerning mechanisms of biological action of applied in animal nutrition substances and feed additives as well as potential danger for live organisms and environment followed from the improper use [ BZ_W06; BZ_W08; BZ_W17; BZ_W21];
W4 – student is able to point out and to calculate the optimal doses of feed additives contained specific biologically active substances [BZ_W04]
W5 – student is able to explain the influence of application of various kinds feed additives on quality of animal origin products [BZ_W04;BZ_W06; BZ_W17];
Skills:
U1 – student is capable to choose the proper kind and the chemical form of feed additive for various groups of animals [BZ_U09];
U2 – student is capable to calculate the amount and share of applied feed additives in rations or concentrate mixtures with respect to chemical form and activity of chosen supplements [BZ_U04; BZ_U09];
U3 – student is capable to tracking down and practically use available information concerning chemical-physical properties different feed additives [BZ_U03];
U4 – student is able to analyse the data concerning feed rations composition and introduce, in reasonable causes, indispensable corrections [BZ_U09];Competences:
K1 – student is conscious of responsibility for tasks that realized in team [BZ_K03]
K2 –student is open for seeking to new information about specific subject and is conscious of continuous changes resulting from technological progress [BZ_K01, BZ_K02; BZ_K12]
K3 – student behaves according to rules of application of different feed additives concerning the law [BZ_K12]
K4 – student perceives relationship between the choosing of biological additive and consequence of it application on live organisms and environment [BZ_K04; BZ_K07]Prerequisites:
Animal physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, the substantial of animal’s breeding and keeping, the substantial of feeding with elements of feed quality.Course content:
Actual status of biologically active substances, their classification, content in raw feed components, mechanisms of biological action, use guide as well as the profits followed from use of them and potential danger for human and animals followed from the improper use will be presented. Also the demands related to the registration and current list of allowed additives. There the necessity of their application according to the kind and quality of feeds, used technology of feeds preparation, health status, environmental conditions and consumers demand (animals’ origin products quality) also will be presented.Recommended literature:
