PolishLearning outcomes:
Knowledge: Student defines the basic concepts of NMR spectroscopy - explains definitions of equivalent and non-equivalwnt protons, chemical shift, integration and proton counting, splitting of signals, coupling constant, spin decoupling – knows typical chemical shift values of common organic compounds. Skills: Student knows how to develop a spectrum - interprets simple NMR spectra - can predict the most important spectral properties of chemical substances - can predict the correct or most probable structure from experimental data. Competences:
Social skills (Attitude): Student is able to select the most appropriate solution for a given analytical problem and evaluate the results of the analysis - works effectively independently and in a team according to the given instructions.Prerequisites:
Organic ChemistryCourse content:
The 1H, 13C, 31P, 19F nuclear magnetic spectroscopy and application of NMR methods for structure determination of organic compounds. Two dimensional spectroscopy 1H-1H and 1H-13C NMR. The application of combined IR, UV and NMR methods for the organic compounds identification. Recommended literature:
