The student is able to define GMO. Knows methods and purposes for GMO construction with the use of current molecular techniques. Is able to describe the advantages and risks arising from GMO. Is familiar with molecular GMO detection techniques: PCR, Real time PCR, hybridization techniques, is able to describe the principles of these methods, choose the proper method for detection of certain GMO and read the obtained results.Competences:

Basic molecular methods for GMO construction. The types of GMO. GMO detection techniques: PCR, real time PCR, hybridization, molecular probes, , ELISA, Western blot.Recommended literature:
