After completing the course, the student:
Knowledge:
knows the idea and conceptual framework of management: understands the meaning of space in the general living space, is familiar with the various levels of identifying with space; knows the structure of space and the methods and tools for documenting space; knows the forms of social involvement in the functioning of an area; knows the meaning of culture and civilisation; is familiar with the indicators used to determine the demographic sphere of an area; is knowledgeable in the subject of pathological situations within society;
Abilities:
is able to determine the semantic structure of space in existential space; can identify the structure of space by type and hierarchy in the process of managing space and management within space; can indicate elements of regional culture within both the material and non-material sphere; can evaluate the demographic potential as well as the human and social capital;
Competences:
Social competence (attitudes):
can explain the meaning of cultural values in maintaining and shaping the identity of space; will characterise the social and cultural potential as the basic limitation in choosing the directions for the development of a territory; will indicate the meaning of demographic changes in local settings; inspires the involvement of citizens in co-governing a territory.

The concept of managing space, including: domestication, entrenchment, sanctification and heritage including the notion of identifying with space. Space as a good, an object of development, use, behaviour. The types and classifications of space, including: private, social, architectural space and the ways and forms of documenting space. Spatial order. The behavioural determinants of spatial behaviour. Human and social capital, civic society – terminology, characterisation, benefits and disadvantages and the role of forms in spatial management. Culture, regional culture, including: the phenomenon, structure, character, spirit and identity of space – global perspective, elements of the cultural environment of a chosen region, regional variation. Culture and civilisation, including the implications in the sphere of the policy of spatial development of cities and villages. Methods for demographic analyses, sources for demographic data, demographic indicators (demographic rates, changes in population distribution, migrations, natural movement). Family and household from a demographic perspective. Selected social problems in population research. Demographic issues regarding local, regional and national planning (examples of documents, aims and principles of documentation).Recommended literature:
