Learning outcomes: The student after completion of the course should know the general basis for the design of spatial composition, physiographic analysis, shaping of the elements of land development, and have a general understanding of legislation for the protection and management of the landscape; he should be able to design the area around the public facility, know how to draw up the technical documentation.

Competences:

Prerequisites: Theory and design rules.

Course content: Introduction to the art of gardens. Overview compositions of plants. Basic cuts and the possibility of formation of trees and shrubs. Physiographic and functional analysis and zoning of the garden. Developing the entrance area - driveway. Waste and compost containers. Using the modular grid. Terrain modeling. Catchment. Examples of solutions. Audio, visual and wind partitions (screens) in the garden. Clearances and culverts in the partitions. Shaping the climate and mood. Neighborhood problems. Trees near the border of the site, architectural objects and infrastructure network. Shading and alimentary competition. Lack of water and getting warmer of climate. Xeriscaping. Garden infrastructure: the organization of the catchment and use of rain water within the land. Rain gardens. Garden infrastructure: Light architecture. Garden structures: walls and fences. Garden structures: paths, stairs, terraces. Garden structures: trellis, pergolas, arbours. Garden styles. Types of gardens. Leading contemporary projects. Garden scenes.
