Learning outcomes and competences:
Recognition physical and physico – chemical rudiments of instrumental methods of chemical analysis and its practical application. The goal of laboratory exercises is to familiarize with equipment, handling with it and individually perform of the analysis, evaluation of data.
Knowledge: Characteristic of instrumental methods and its classification. Spectroscopic methods, theoretical basis, absorption and emission spectra. Detection and registration of spectra. Spectrophotometry, equipment and examples of determination. Atomic spectroscopy AES, AAS, measurement techniques and analytical applications. Mass spectrometry – theory. Electrochemical methods physic and chemical theory, practical application. Potentiometry, conductometry. Precision and accuracy of measurement in instrumental technique. Interference effects, calibration. Sensivity, selectivity, specifity od instrumental techniques. Speciation and mulielement analysis – theory. Coupled techniques – theory. Errors and its classification. Methods of sample preparation.
Skills: The effect of education is to posses skills and competence concern to chose of technique and method, gain analytical data, estimation of accuracy, precision and traceability of analytical result, usefulness different physico – chemical techniques in analytical practice.
Competences:
Student demonstrates understanding of the physicochemical properties of the measurement, method, or technique. Organizes and conducts research in the team. Appreciates the need for self-improvement and the need for training. Assess and explain the desirability of measuring the analytical methods used .. Observes the rules of hygiene and safety at work in the analytical laboratory. Demonstrates responsibility for the entrusted equipment.Prerequisites:

Electrochemical methods: measurements of pH, elctrolytical conductance (EC), salinity, Red-Ox potential, titration methods, colorimetric measurements, flame photometry – interferences, atomic emission spectroscopy AES, atomic absorption spectroscopy AAS, quality of analytical methods, uncertainty of measurements.Recommended literature:

Assessment methods:
Lecture: Passed on the basis of exam which comprise content given during lectures and exercises.
Exercises: credit on the basis of realization of all laboratory exercises and reports and pass of three colloquiums
