Knowledge: Student W1 – has extensive knowledge of the biology of waterfowl;
W2 – has advanced knowledge of economic, legal and social aspects of duck and geese breeding;
W3 – has detailed knowledge of waterfowl poultry production and knows principles of its nutrition;
W4 – has extensive knowledge of biodiversity protection of waterfowl poultry.
Skills: Student
U1 – is able to make a detailed assessment of all crucial elements in duck and geese breeding as well as asses environment and health condition and select an appropriate methods of improvement ;
U2 – is able to induct necessary modification in feeding system of waterfowl poultry;
U3 – has ability to prepare an oral performance in polish language.Competences:
Student K1- is aware of the ethics of his/her zootechnician profession and of needs of training and improving professional competence in waterfowl poultry breeding;
K2– is aware of responsibility for the production of high quality food, birds welfare and environment.Prerequisites:

To make the students familiar with wild ducks and geese, with economic significance of geese and ducks, breeding material that is currently supported in Poland, conditions of maintenance and feeding of water fowl, genetic reserve, conservative flocks and water birds met in amateur breeding.Recommended literature:

During exercises knowledge W1, W2, W3 and W4 will be verified on the basis of two written tests (45 minutes). For each, 4 questions is provided (descriptive and problematic), 2 questions from lectures and 2 from exercises. Answers to the questions will be evaluated on scale from 2 to 5. To obtain a positive mark a 60% of correct answers is required. On the basis of the practical exercises carried out in didactic-experimental facility on Kożuchowska Street 7, student's ability - U1 to assess the environmental and health status of waterfowl will be evaluated. Also ability U2 on the basis of student's lecture, will be assessed. On the basis of written paper work the competences K1 - the awareness of the ethics of the zootechnician profession, necessity of knowledge supplementation and K2 - on the responsibility for the production of high-quality food, birds welfare and environmental status, will be evaluated.
The presence on the exercises is mandatory; a student can have only one unexcused absence. In the case of excused absence the student is required to pass the relevant part of the material.
