Knowledge: student knows fundamental legislative and ethical aspects related to carrying out of experiments on live organisms; student understands and knows basis principles of bioethical commisions; student understands hazards and ethical problems related to biology development.
Skills: student skillfully uses specialist, scientific literature, both Polish and English pertaining to biology and relative disciplines; student advances reasons concerning moral and ethical problems of up to date biology; student discusses about possibilities of some problems solution; student critical estimates news in biology reported in mass-media.
Competences:
Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): student is willing to constantly update knowledge of biology and related disciplines and aware of the need for lifelong learning; student is active in improving his/her skills through courses and specific training and study of expert literature; student can inspire and organize the learning process of other people; student is aware of the risks to human health arising from the civilization development;
student recognises the need for continuous self-study in this respect and supports the ideas and pro-ecological actions; student promotes commitment to quality and the environmental future; student actively supports the pro-ecological and pro-health actions.

zoology, botany.Course content:
Ethics thesis. Birth of bioethics. The sources of ethical regulations according to animals. The euthanasia of animals. Ethical problems according to cellular and tissue culture in vitro – inclouding parent cells – transplantology, genetic engineering, transgenetic animals, human genom researches, geotechnology, in vitro inflammation, sperm banks, storing up the embryos. Ethics in animal sciences. Ethics in species protection, natural and environmental protection and intellectual property.Recommended literature:
