Learning outcomes: During the course student obtains the theoretical knowledge and practical skills enabling to manage the herd and to organize the breeding and husbandry on animal farm. They know the modern technologies of animal production and assessment methods of the quality of animal products in the light of European Union demands.
Competences: The completion of the course enables the independent running of animal farm in European Union market conditions, and also working in institutions or firms of agricultural and animal production profile.
Prerequisites: General Breeding of Farm Animals
Course content: Breeds and utilization types of animals, organisation of farm animal breeding and husbandry, systems of animal keeping, modern technologies of milk, meat, wool and eggs production, the quality assessment of animal products, hygienic standards, animal welfare and environment protection in animal production, animal branding, identification in the light of European Union regulations.
