Knowledge: Student
W01 - is able to choose the species and varieties of fodder plants to be cultivated in different places of plants rotation;
W02 - knows the nutritive value of forages produced on farm as natural and preserved ones (hay, silages);
W03 - is able to list and characterize the factors that modify the nutritive value of these feeds ;
W04 - knows the technology of silages and hay production.
Skills: Student
U01 - It is able to organize the forages production considering nutritional requirement of ruminants;
U02 – can exploit the productive potential of meadows and pastures by their correct utilization;
U03 – Is able to organoleptically examine the quality of forages produced on the farms;
U04 - is able to calculate the diets depending on quality of own forages.Competences:

K01 - understands the role ruminants in the rural production turnover as well as in the country environment formation;
K02 understands the role of pasture as the most natural form of herbivores nutrition that provides the best condition for their behaviour (welfare);
K03 understands role of forages in the “field-animal-table” chain.

Training contents:Natural and economic conditions of the field production of feeds and criteria of species and varieties of fodder plants selections in the plants rotation in the aspect of animal requirement for feed. Nutritive value and importance of perennial legume plants in feeding of animals. Grass and grassy-legume mixtures cultivated in the field, chemical characteristics and the ways of their utilization in feeding of ruminants. Permanent green cultivations and pasture in the feed balance. Methods of green matter preservation as well as nutritive value and the use of preserved roughages in feeding of ruminants.Recommended literature:
