Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Knows basic rules of conduct in the use of scientific and technical literature and legislation, ethical principles in science, methodic and forms of scientific work, the role of student internships, cooperation in science and principles of key documents preparation, sources of scientific information, review of existing research methods, principles of scientific research organization, research papers design, thesis development and writing techniques , the principles of delivering presentations. Skills: Can prepare personal and official documents, use scientific literature, deliver presentations, organize and conduct research, draw conclusions and write the content of scientific papers

Competences: Demonstrates understanding of the social and moral importance of the quality and integrity of scientific research in the development of scientific disciplines, attitudes and social values.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Construction matters (including eg. design of structures, laboratory tests). Overview of research and design problems in construction against the scientifically - technical conference topics. Guidelines for the selection of the engineering and scientific literature in the field of construction. Overview of thesis topics pursued by "construction" students in the past. Construction designing and research matters undertaken by degree candidates - the effect of simplifying assumptions on the results of the design calculations and scientific analysis for the construction industry. The algorithm of thesis execution with emphasis on construction matters.
