Knowledge
Student knows about influence of catchment area usage, degree of its sealing, season precipitation and the amount of precipitation on storm water; defines the meaning of reservoirs, tanks wetlands, retention and infiltration tanks, green roofs, absorbent surfaces and green gardens on the water balance of urban areas; knows the rules of design and selection of equipment for the purification of rainwater from suspensions, petroleum compounds and micropollutants; knows the current standards and legislative requirements for efficiency of purification and rainwater drainage conditions to the receiver.
Skills
Student can design device to pre-cleaning of rainwater, reservoirs, tanks wetlands, retention and infiltration tanks, green roofs and green gardens; knows how to use rainwater for domestic purposes, for the purpose of fire protection, for irrigation to reduce consumption of high quality water; can develop a plan to increase water retention in urban areas.

Understands the need for sustainable development of urban areas; understands and disseminates knowledge in the field of rational rainwater management in areas with a high degree of sealing surface.Prerequisites:

Impact of catchment area of rainwater composition. Devices for removing suspended solids from rainwater. Removal of petroleum. Petrol and oil separators. Removal of heavy metals. Design principles of reservoirs. Flow regulators. Hydrophilic tanks. Ground and underground retention and infiltration tanks. Design principles of green roofs. Rain Gardens.
