Knowledge: Student W1 – knows more important breeds and utilization types of cattle and factors influencing milk and slaughter yield of the cattle
W2 – has a general knowledge in the range of cattle breeding and husbandry
W3 – has a general knowledge in the range of technology of milk and beef production
W4 – knows the basis of elaboration of breeding assumptions for cattle herd and project of cattle farm organization
Skills: Student U1 – makes use of cattle breeds and factors influencing milk and slaughter yield for cattle performance improvement
U2 – has an ability of searching, understanding, analysis and application of needed information from breeding documentation
U3 – performs under lecturer supervision simple project tasks concerning cattle breeding and utilization, properly interprets results and draws the conclusions
U4 – is able to elaborate projects in the field of cattle breeding and husbandry Competences:

Utilization types and dairy and beef breeds of cattle, factors influencing milk and slaughter yield of cattle, cattle reproduction, methods of an assessment of utilization value of cattle, technologies of bovine milk and livestock production, systems of cattle maintenance, breeding documentation, purchase and classification of bovine milk and livestock, project of cattle breeding and husbandry.Recommended literature:

Practicals completion:
Practicals completion based on an average score obtained during oral statements (verification W1, W2, W3, K1); two written tests containing 10 test questions and 5 tasks (verification W1, W2, W3, U1, U3); practicals in the cowshed (verification U2, K1) and preparation of the project in the range of cattle breeding and husbandry (within 2 weeks) and its presentation using multimedia software (about. 15 minutes) (verification W4, U4).
Presence on the practicals is obligatory. In case of justified absence, the student is obliged to complete the suitable part of material (oral statement on 2 problem questions).
Scores range and % of proper answers: 3 – 60%, 3+ – 70%, 4 – 80%, 4+ – 90%, 5 – 100%.
Course completion:
The basis for course completion is practicals completion and written exam during the examination session (5 problem questions and 2 tasks). The exam lasts 1.5 h. When the exam is not completed in the first term, the student has the right to pass it again in the same form in additional term (after 7 days from the first date). Minimum scope of knowledge and skills required for completion is 60%. Knowledge (W1, W2, W3) and skills (U1) will be verified during the exam. Comment:
