Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student knows the specific conditions in the city and is able to plan appropriate plant species. Student knows the species suitable to house gardens. Student knows the rules of formation of the soil environment and for cutting woody plants. Skills: Student can recognize species of trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses used in green areas and select them according to the habitat. He can plan the work, for installation of greenery and a series of treatments appropriate to the planned vegetation.
Competences: Social competencies: Student understands the importance of proper selection of plant species in design of green areas and understands their influence on natural environment. Student is able to work in team.
Prerequisites: botany, ecology
Course content: Specific conditions in city ecosystem for plant species development and planning approciate greenery. Description of function of green areas in city center, as well as rural areas. Transport and storage of plants. Planting and maintenance of hedges. Types of plants cutting. Care of trees damages. Care and renovation of lawns. Care and treatments in flower beds. Ways to protect plants from pests and diseases. Transplanting mature trees.
