Knowledge: Describes environmental management instruments; Defines the technologies used in the agri-food establishments; Indicates the key elements of quality management of organic and conventional food; Defines the scope of the ISO 14001 standard; Knows the instruments and the principles of environmental management techniques; Defines the process of Llife Cycle Assessment;
Skills: Uses the principles of rational environment management in the context of the company audit; Evaluates olfactometric nuisance of odors in the environment; Assesses the ecological balance in the environment; Uses methods and environmental management systems; Evaluates environmental pollution associated with the applied technology; Prepares environmental policy for processing plants;Competences:
Demonstrates the need for improvement of professional qualifications and the need for lifelong learning; Has social awareness of the importance of professional and ethical responsibility for the formulation and the environment and production of safe food of high quality; Understand the environmental risks associated with improper food production technology; Able to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner taking into account the environmental aspects of the environment.Prerequisites:

Familiarization students with the environmental determinants of food production in terms of threats, Characteristics of organic products. Economic aspects and legal and environmental administration. Environmental problems in agro - food industryenterprises. Presentation solutions for comprehensive environmental management (ISO 14 001, EMAS and other tools). Classification of food due to the manufacturing process - organic food, traditional and conventional. Analysis of the Life Cycle Assesment and its impact on the environment (environmental management techniques). Integrating environmental management system with other systems.Recommended literature:
