Learning outcomes: Knowledge: -Student describes and defines the cause and the clinical signs of disease and functional disorders occurring in horses -describes the diagnosis (including differential diagnosis), the investigation and treatment, and prevention in specific disease entities, -properly interprets the results of laboratory tests (such as eg blood tests, urine, fluid from body cavities, cerebrospinal fluid, ultrasound, ECG, X-ray, CT, MRI, EEG Practical skills: -safely and humanely deals with these animals, performs a full clinical examination of the animal and determine the further course of the evaluation, -collects and protects the material for laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide the horses first aid in emergencies, -selects and applies appropriate treatment and preventive procedures

Competences: -understands the need for continuous training and improve their skills and be aware of your limitations -acts in accordance with the principles of ethics, being aware of the responsibility for decisions and puts the good of the patient in the first place

Prerequisites: Animal Anatomy, Topographic Anatomy, Pathomorphology, Physiology, Pathophysiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Immunology, Clinical and Laboratory Diagnostics, General Surgery and Anaesthesiology, Diagnostic Imaging.

Course content: The etiology, symptoms, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of horses.

Assessment methods: Completion of the course.

Comment: This subject lasts two semesters: Internship-Diseases of horses part I and Internship-Diseases of horses part II.
