Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1 - Student has knowledge of crop and animal production (BH1 - W07) W 2 - Student has general knowledge of crop culyivation and breeding (BH1 - W13) W3 - Student knows principles of environmental protection and ecology (BH1 - W16) Skills: U1 - Student carries out simple projects concerning agriculture, correctly interprets results and draws the conclusions (BH1 - U04) U2 - Student is able to prepare speech in Polish or foreign language concerning detailed issues with the use of basic theoretical knowledge and other sources (BH1 - U16)
Competences: K1 - Student understands the necessity to learn for the whole life (BH1 - K01) K2 - Student is responsible for safety of environment surrounding the place of crop and animal production with reference to production of safe food (BH1 - K04) K3 - Student is aware of the relevance of social, professional and ethical responsibility for formation and status of environment, animal welfare as well as production of safe and high quality food (BH1 - K07)
Prerequisites: principles of crop and animal production
Course content: Trends in organic farming. Organic agroecosystem characterization: plant production, tillage, plant nutrition, plant protection, principles of breeding, grasslands, horticulture. Quality and safety of organic food. Organic food features. Processing of organic products. Environmental protection. Biodynamic farming. Organic farming law regulations.
