Student:
W1 – knows the position of productive insects in the world of living organisms [KB_W06];
W2 – has a general knowledge of the structure, physiology and vital functions of bee insects and silkworm [KB_W06];
W3 – describes the stages of social development and social life of bees, honey bees and bumble bees, student knows differences occurring between them [KB_W06; KB_W08; KB_W07];
W4 – knows basic ecology of bees and understands the relationship between bees and flower plants [KB_W07; KB_W15];
W5 – knows the phylogenetic origin of bees, can explain possibility of bee adaptation to changing environmental conditions [KB_W11];
W6 – understands the anthropogenic risks of wild bee insects habitats[KB_W18].
Skills:
Student:
U1 – properly handles the microscope and laboratory equipment and working safety with biological material [KB_U06; KB_U12];
U2 – has mastered the basic methods of insects preparation and microscopy techniques [KB_U12];
U3 – distinguishes insect species which are economically important, also forms and ways of their life [KB_U10];
U4 – is able to estimate the resources of bee insects in the environment, analyze relationship between the bee occurrence and different components of ecosystem and climatic conditions [KB_U06; K_U11];
U5 – knows how to handle bees safely [KB_U12].

Biology of bees and silkworm, phenomena occurring in the world of bees, relationship between bees, the role of bees in the environment and their influence on live plants and crops plants, methods of bee breeding and their identification, evolution of bees live, methods of silkworm breeding, feeding of bees and silkworm.Recommended literature:

Assessment methods:
Completion of the exercise: regular (1-2 times a month) written tests to assess the current rating (based on oral statements) progress and activity. The presence of the exercises is compulsory, the students may have only one unauthorized absence. When student was absence he is required to pass the relevant part of the material. Completion of exercises based on the marks average.
Completion of the course: students with a valid credit classes pass a written test (30 open questions) of the lecture.
