Learning outcomes: Knowledge: knows general concepts, definitions and regulations in the field of construction law. Knows the selection criteria for a structural and non-structural elements as well as and thermo insulation in buildings constructed in the traditional technology. Understands the role and tasks of the building's basic elements, including structural elements. Skills: Able to design a building with the correct spatial and functional arrangements; correct construction system; correct selection of thermal, dampness and acoustic insulation. Able to perform a critical analysis of roles and tasks of building's basic construction and non-construction elements considering, construction safety, fire and usage safety.

Competences: Understands the need to learn and gain experience to become a charted engineer; understands the necessity of gaining confidence of the public to function as independent designer.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Building elements: flat roofs, roofs. Floors and walls: strength, insulation and fire-proofing. Windows and doors. Finishing: roofing. Timber structures - the characteristics and conditions of use. Design of timber structures. Prefabricated buildings. Large-panel construction. The technical conditions of the buildings. Ecology and design of buildings.
