Learning outcomes: Learning outcomes After completing the course a student is able to: Knowledge identifies and describes the crucial persons and events during the medicine development process understands the close relation between veterinary and humen medicine history understands the role of ethic and veterinary deontology in veterinary practices knows the sources of medical terminology Practical skills Students use the basic knowledge of history and deontology. Students describe the historic and deontological problem and discuss them taking under consideration the science and ethic evolution. Students perform necessary lifelong learning, worldwide evolution and ethic attitude promotion. Students discuss the role of knowledge on history and deontology of veterinary medicine in veterinary sciences.
Competences: acquires skills to make quick decisions in contact with live animal owner understands the importance of history of veterinary medicine and deontology in clinical practice understands the necessity of lifelong learning Ability to work within a working groups

Course content: The course aims to present students with information concerning veterinary history, its development and achievements from Antiquity until today as well as instilling passion and pride for their future profession. Students also obtain essential information on professional ethics as well as rights and obligations of veterinary surgeon in contemporary professional and social life.
