Knowledge: Student becomes familiar with the problematics on the by-products generated by the agri-food industry. Demonstrate knowledge on the use and processing of raw materials, and the products of animal and plant origin. It can draw on the knowledge of the agricultural and zootechnical sciences.
Skills: Creates and optimizes the rations for livestock with the use of by-products of the agri-food industry. Student knows the methods of analysis and evaluation of raw materials of plant and animal, origin regarding their safe recycling.Competences:
It can bear the responsibility for the safety of the environment surrounding the place of plants and animals production in aspect of safe food production. The student is able to initiate the sensible activity that guarantee the safety of subsequent stages in food production according to the safety and protection of the environment.Prerequisites:

The student acquires a general knowledge on the production of commercial feeds consisting of components obtained from the agri-food industry. Knows what risks may arise because of the use of these feedstuffs, possibly containing toxic substances in animal nutrition. Knows what methods could be used to limit the negative effects of toxic compounds. Acquires knowledge on the methods of disposal of died animals and wastes from the meat industry. Learns what threats may be created by the inappropriate use of excess mineral compounds and by the presence of medicinal substances in feedingstuffs.Recommended literature:
