Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student knows the most important sources of environmental hazards, including sudden and catastrophic events. He knows the ways and methodologies for assessing the effects of disasters and failures on some elements of the environment and to human health. He knows the ways to prevent accidents and natural and anthropogenic disasters. He knows the rules for responding in the event of a failure, the competence of the administrative authorities and institutions established to combat the effects of emergencies. Skills: Assess the impact of failures and disasters on selected elements of the environment, using appropriate methods and taking advantage of the law. The student proposals for measures aimed at reducing the impact of human pressure and eliminate damage to the environment, according to the specializations. He can obtain information from literature and other sources, it can integrate information obtained, interpret and critically evaluate them. This justifies selection of the optimal method of reclamation and apply the substantive arguments in favor of this choice. Evaluates the effectiveness of reclamation taken to eliminate the consequences of the largest environmental disasters.

Competences: Social competence: Is aware of the effects that can cause pollution and can indicate risk minimization activities. Manifests the need to learn current issues in the field of environmental protection; inspires others to interest in these issues; can reliably and accessibly provide environmental information.

Prerequisites: Environmental Chemistry, Physics, reclamation of degraded areas (in the field of first-degree studies)
